GLITTER DESCRIPTIONS AND TIPS ON APPLYING

This is made from plastic. It is just as sparkley as the polyester but it is much harder. It does not lay completely flat and one pound will cover approximately18 square feet.

Plastic Glitter is best for crafts, kids projects and outdoor projects to name a few.

This glitter is made from polyester material and it does have a very thin layer of aluminum in the corel. The Fine is like a small grain or powder and the flake is just bigger and is a small flake. They both are very soft and lay flat when applied. One pound will cover aproximately 125 square feet.

Polyester Glitters can be used on the skin as body glitter, in dry cosmetics, indoors, outdoors, kids projects, crafts and more.

This glitter is made from a Polymar Material. It does not have any metal in the core. The Fine is like a small grain or powder and the flake is just bigger and is a small flake. They both are very soft and lay flat when applied. One pound will cover aproximately 125 square feet.
Crystalina Polymar Glitters can be used on the skin as body glitter, in dry cosmetics, indoors, outdoors, kids projects, crafts and more.

OUR GLITTERS ARE VERY HIGH QUALITY AND HAVE A BRILLIANT SPARKLE!
THEY ARE ALL NON TOXIC

Here are a few tips we have picked up along the way to apply glitter.

You can put it directly into a bottle of nail polish or paint and stir it or put a couple of tiny glass or metal marbles in the bottle to mix it well when you shake it. I have done this and it worked well for me. You can also add it to a clear paint or polish and then just roll or brush it on and it will sparkle through the paint or polish.

APPLYING IT TO A CELILING OR WALL

You can get something called a glitter applicator at Home Depot or you can make one yourself. Just get a plastic bottle with a pointed lid put your glitter in the bottle not to full so there is air in the bottom of the bottle. Then you can squeeze or puff the glitter out in the direction that you want with more control. You can also snip the pointed lid and make it larger and put a plastic tube over it and then you would be able to apply more at one time and still be able to direct where it goes better.

MAKING CARDS OR DECO-PAUGE

You can use our Diamond Glaze and you can thin it with water and paint it on or you can us a spray adhesive. If you purchase some small plastic bottles like the ones you would use to dye your hair but smaller if possible or you can use the larger ones if you can handle the bottle. Just put your glitter in the bottle and leave some air at the bottom. Just after you apply your adhesive face the point of the bottle toward where you want the glitter and squeese or puff the glitter out on the surface. This helps you have more control and be more accurate with the glitter. You can always cut the top a bit larger if you need more to come out with each puff. This is also a great way to store some of the glitter and it is always ready for you to use and is less of a fuss. You would however need a funnel to fill your bottles. You can usually find one cheap at a grocery store.

COVERING PLASTIC EGGS OR PUMPKINS OR MOST ANYTHING
You can follow the process above for cards and deco-pauge and your projects should come out just as beautiful.

COATING GLITTER AFTER YOU ARE DONE

Sometimes you would want to seal your project so that the glitter doesn't flake off everywhere or if it will be outside in the elements for a period of time. You can use our Diamond Glaze and just thin it if need be with water and paint it over the surface of the glittered piece. Make sure the glued glitter project is completely dry before sealing it. The Diamond Glaze will dry hard and very clear. You can also use a spray glue but test it first because some of them do not dry very hard and also turn a bit yellow. We have been told that you can use a spray lacquer like the kind you would use on furniture. The brand name that has been suggested to us is Verathane because it drys hard, clear and does not turn yellow.

If you have any more questions please feel free to contact us and if we don't know the answer we will try and help you find it.

OTHER GLUE SUGGESTIONS:
For a water resistant glue for outside try Tite Bond II (water resistant) or III (water proof). These can be thinned with water and also used as a top coat and they dry clear. It is best not to use it over any oil based staines or paints. You can use these with paper, glass, glitter and plastic to name a few.

Apoxy for use as an overcoating. The brand name is West System - two part apoxy. It is UV resistant. You can get this at a boat supply store. You can use this over oil based stain or paint. This also dries clear. When applying glitter it does help to paint the surface first with a color close to the glitter to help with coverage and help the color stay richer.

PLASTIC BOTTLES WITH POINTED LIDS FOR APPLYING AND STORAGE:
Try a resturant supply store they might have the plastic bottles with the pointed tops.
